Air Conditioning

Dear Bridge Players, As you know, we have installed A/C Units at the club which was unanimously approved by the membership at a general membership meeting. We understand that everyone has a different "body temperature"; however it is easier to add layers of clothing if you are chilly rather than remove clothing if you are warm. The board has agreed that the A/C should or could be turned on if the temperature reaches 75 degrees. When the director arrives to set up for a game, he or she can determine based on the thermostat or the expected afternoon temperature to go ahead and turn on the units at that time or to open the doors & windows to get the cool breeze. If the temperature goes above 75 degrees then the doors & windows can be closed and the A/C turned on. These units are adjustable so the temperature can be set higher or lower as needed. If you think it might be chilly for you, we would suggest that you bring a sweater or jacket with you. When the A/C is on, please keep all windows and doors closed to conserve energy. The same logic in reverse will be applied in the cooler months regarding turning on the heaters. We realize it is impossible to please everyone but we are trying to work this out for everyone's benefit.
